This has to be one of the biggest concerns for my brides. I send out a pre trial questionnaire and 80% of the time, it comes back with “My makeup never lasts”
There are many things that can be done to help the longevity of makeup but ultimately it comes down to 3 things…
Correct skincare - by you and I using the correct products for your skin, it will be in the best place to show off your wedding day makeup. I will always be open and honest about any areas I feel need some tweaking. I discuss what your usual skincare routine is, and if you don't have one, find out why not. I know skincare can be overwhelming with the amount of products available but that's why I'm here to help guide you.
Correct products - one of the reasons a trial is important. it's the first time I'm seeing your skin. This is where we can both see what suits you and what works with your skin type and texture. Usually little tweaks are made for the day once you've worn your trial makeup and can see if what's been used works or not for your skin. I am more than happy to put together a mini skincare guide, with recommended products I feel would work well for your skin, so you can get it as prepped as possible for your big day! I'll make sure it isn't overwhelming or too difficult to follow I promise.
Layering - you may think more makeup would make it last better, that's not the case. it's all about building those layers little by little to create a lasting look. I spend the most time on your skin when I do your makeup, this way I can work specifically on areas of your skin which may need a little TLC and emphasize the good bits too! Using layers where needed, help create longevity throughout your whole look. Which is what we both want!
Please note: It's also important to be realistic in your expectations and know that skin moves as we go about our day. What you see perfectly displayed on a photoshopped image is not reality. I will give you tips and tricks to help your makeup last as well as it can and provide a touch up kit for the day too.
