A little history about me…
When I first decided I wanted to be a makeup artist, it was actually special effects I was interested in, completely different to weddings I’m sure you’d agree!
I trained in Cambridge so was able to stay local to my home in Hertfordshire and during the first part of my course, I had to start with the basics, and work through all aspects of hair and makeup. This included the history of makeup and it’s influences from beauty and fashion and I actually fell in love with that side of it.
This wasn’t so much because I enjoyed using “pretty” makeup instead, but because I loved transforming people in a more natural way and enhancing their natural beauty. The opposite of special effects, where you completely change the way someone looks! I learnt to boost my clients confidence and help bring out the best version of them on their important day.
I also realised the importance of showing brides that aren't as comfortable wearing lots of makeup or having volume and curls, that a more natural approach can still be so beautiful, and on many occasions better.
I would never throw on every product on the market to cover up and change every aspect of your face. I use colours, textures and tones to compliment every aspect of your face - I feel there's a big difference.
I have always enjoyed topping up my skills over the years and have recently added bridal portraits which give me the opportunity to capture my brides in the best way for me to showcase my skills. I'll of coruse share the beautiful images with you!
Another addition to my services is faux flower hair accessories. I have used my knowledge of hair and bridal hairstyles to create beautiful complimentary flower crowns, combs and pins that brides can purchase either premade or bespoke. Please take a look at my Hair Flowers page for more information.
