Luxury look, High street price - 6 makeup and skincare dupes to save the pennies!

Updated: Nov 9

We all love a bit of luxury in our routines, but sometimes the prices on high-end makeup and skincare can make us think twice, me included! Luckily, there are some amazing dupes (cheaper duplicates/copies if you're not familiar with the term 'dupe') out there that do the job just as well and don’t break the bank!

I recently discussed with my fellow makeup artists our favourite dupes  for luxury makeup and skincare brands. These are products we use ourselves as well as in our professional kits, they're that good of a dupe!

1) Super Dewy blush from Revolution £10 (for 2) dupe for Charlotte Tilbury’s blush wands £30

For a natural, radiant flush, Revolution’s Super Dewy Liquid Blush is a fantastic dupe for Charlotte Tilbury’s Blush Wands. At £10 for two shades, Revolution’s blush offers buildable, dewy colour at a fraction of the £30 price tag for a single blush wand from Charlotte Tilbury.

Both products give that fresh, glowy finish, with Revolution’s formula delivering a similar creamy texture and blendability. The colour payoff is comparable as well, and the dewy effect doesn’t feel greasy or heavy. Revolution’s shades range across flattering pinks, peaches, and warm tones, so you’re bound to find something close to Charlotte Tilbury’s iconic shades.

For those after a high-end look without the splurge, Revolution Super Dewy Blush is an excellent, affordable alternative.

2) Neutrogena water gel cream £14.25 dupe for Clinique moisture surge £79

If you’re looking for deep hydration without the luxury price, Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost Water Gel Cream is a fab dupe for Clinique’s Moisture Surge. Priced at £14.25, Neutrogena’s gel cream delivers intense moisture similar to Clinique’s popular £79 moisturiser, using the same key ingredient – hyaluronic acid – which helps lock in hydration and keep your skin plump.

Both formulas have a lightweight, refreshing gel texture that absorbs quickly, leaving skin feeling smooth and hydrated without any sticky or greasy feeling. Neutrogena’s version gives you that same cooling, moisturised feel and keeps dryness at bay, making it a great choice if you love Clinique’s feel (like me) but want a more budget-friendly option (also like me).

So for happy hydrated skin at a fraction of the cost, Neutrogena Hydro Boost is a brilliant alternative to Clinique Moisture Surge.

3)  L'Oreal age perfect BB cream £11.99 dupe for  Charlotte tilbury beautiful skin £39

L'Oreal Age Perfect BB Cream at £11.99 is a budget-friendly dupe for Charlotte Tilbury’s Beautiful Skin Foundation, which is priced at £39. Both products aim to provide a natural, radiant finish while offering skincare benefits, making them ideal for those who want a little glow and some extra nourishment.

L'Oreal’s BB cream is specifically designed to give mature skin a boost, offering lightweight coverage that smooths and evens out the complexion, much like Charlotte Tilbury’s formula. Both include hydrating ingredients (like hyaluronic acid) to keep skin looking fresh and dewy without settling into fine lines, bonus!

If you’re after a similar glow and healthy-skin look without the higher price, L'Oreal Age Perfect BB Cream is an affordable alternative that achieves a similar, natural effect. I genuinely love and use both!

4) Elf lip stain £6 dupe for NARS Power Matte Lip stain £27

The Elf Lip Stain at just £6 is a fantastic dupe for the NARS Powermatte Lip Stain, which comes in at £27. Both products offer bold, long-lasting colour that dries down to a lightweight, matte finish, perfect for an all-day look that doesn’t budge.

Elf’s lip stain delivers impressive pigment and staying power, with a formula that feels comfortable and non-drying—just like NARS. Both stains layer well, allowing you to build up intensity without a heavy feel. The colour range is similar too, with vibrant reds, berries, and nudes to suit many looks and complexions.

For a long-wearing, high-impact lip that won’t break the bank, Elf Lip Stain is a must have alternative to NARS Powermatte Lip Stain. I'll certainly be stocking up when I need to!

The B. by Superdrug Cleansing Melt at £9.99 is a brilliant budget-friendly dupe for Clinique’s Take the Day Off Balm at £34. Both are designed to melt away makeup, suncream, and general dirt from the day, leaving your skin feeling soft, fresh, and thoroughly cleansed.

The B. Cleansing Melt has a similar balm-to-oil texture, even breaking down waterproof makeup without or leaving a greasy feel. Like Clinique’s balm, it’s gentle on the skin and free from harsh ingredients, making it suitable for sensitive skin types. Both balms rinse off easily, leaving skin feeling clean but not stripped of natural oils.

For a luxurious feeling cleanse at a fraction of the price, B. by Superdrug Cleansing Melt is a fantastic alternative to Clinique Take the Day Off Balm.

The Maybelline Express Brow Ultra Slim Pencil at £8.99 is an excellent, affordable dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz, which costs £23. Both pencils are ultra-slim with a precise tip, allowing you to create natural, hair-like strokes to fill in and define your brows.

Maybelline’s pencil has a similar fine tip that makes it easy to control, whether you want a light, natural look or a more defined brows. Both pencils also come with a mascara like wand (spoolie) on the end for blending and brushing out, giving you professional look without the high-end price.

So for well-groomed, natural-looking brows on a budget, Maybelline Express Brow Ultra Slim is a great alternative to Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz.

Giving some of these dupes a try is a great idea if you want to have a play with makeup looks, without breaking the bank!
