So you've secured a date, chosen your venue and now it's time to start looking at everything else on your to do list.
Booking your wedding suppliers can be a daunting task. You want the day to be perfect so of course you want the suppliers to be perfect too. Or a perfect fit with you at least.
For me It's not just about providing a hair and makeup service, it's being that friendly face who knows what it's like to plan a wedding (I'm married myself) and be there as a physical and mental support on the morning of one of the most important days of your life. Often your hair and makeup is something you're most anxious about because it's you on show! You want to feel your absolute best, in the most confident and flattering way.
I like to build up a friendship with my brides and reassure them along the way. I want you to feel supported and know I'm always here for those little questions that pop up here and there! So here's my process from Enquiry through to your Wedding day!
ENQUIRY
When you enquire through my booking form, I ask specific questions so I can gather all the information I need to provide a bespoke and accurate quote for the services you need on your wedding morning. My prices are listed on my website here but other factors will be taken into consideration like if another artist is needed and mileage on the day.
BOOKED
Once you’re happy to go ahead with booking me, you can confirm this with a 25% booking fee (deposit), this holds your date so no other brides can book me and also covers admin fees and some if not all of your trial cost.
Unfortunately a date is not safe until you have sent this through, so once I've received your deposit, I send through a confirmation email with some details about what to expect next!
PORTAL
Once you're on my system as a confirmed bride (woohoo!) you get allocated a personal portal with your own password. This is where you can see all emails, invoices and anything else in one secure place. Perfect if you need to keep anything a surprise! Also great for organisation as you don't have to go trawling through lots of emails to check 100 different details. Just keep that one email with your log in details safe, and it will lead you to the rest!
TRIAL
The exciting bit! With about 5-6 months to go I will send over a link with all of my availability for you to book your hair and/or makeup trial! Trials happen on a Tuesday or Thursday at my home studio in Bishops Stortford. You can read more about the process and how to prepare for it here.
2 weeks before your trial I’ll send out a pre-trial questionnaire. This gives you the opportunity to send over some inspiration images and to tell me a little more about your hair and skin type. Don't worry, I'll give you prompts, this is just so I can spend more time on your actual trial rather than asking all these questions before we get started!
1 week before your trial - I’ll confirm the details, including where to go, and how best to prepare your hair and skin.
A few days after your trial - I'll send you a post trial questionnaire so you can tell me if there’s anything you may want adapted or not. Sometimes it's just the change of a lip colour or you might not want to change a thing, but here you can tell me if your skin liked or disliked the foundation etc that I used, so I know of any changes I may or may not need to make on the day.
FINAL DETAILS
About 12 weeks before your wedding, I’ll confirm numbers, times, getting ready location etc so everything is 100% up to date. I'll also ask you to provide details of what everyone in your wedding party is having, with inspo pictures. This helps me prep any team members and pack correctly with the right products.
WEDDING MORNING SCHEDULE
8 weeks before - I will create and send you your wedding morning timings. This will take into account how long each style takes when each person should be in the chair, what time I will start and finish and the time you'll have left once finished and ready to walk down the aisle. I always factor in extra time at the end in case of any hold ups, but generally I aim to have you all ready with an hour before your ceremony.
FINAL BALANCE
One month to go - Your remaining balance is due. This will be whatever is left to pay. If any changes have been made, this will be reflected here. This may mean a difference in travel cost or if an extra artist is needed. Any changes will always be discussed with you so there are no surprises.
A WEEK TO GO
It's the week before your wedding woohoo! - I’ll confirm all is well and what time I will be with you on the morning. Now is a good time to double check your morning schedule to make sure you're still happy with everything. I will also give information to pass onto your wedding party, such as when to wash their hair.
THE DAY BEFORE
I will drop you an email to give you some little pre wedding day tips and confirm again that I will see you bright eyed and bushy tailed!
YOUR WEDDING DAY!
The day itself! - I will arrive roughly 30 mins before starting, ready to set up and start pampering you and your wedding party. I won’t leave until you are ready to go, in case of any touch ups needed.
